During his first term, Joe has incorporated some cost saving measures to save money in the county’s general fund. He’s been able to utilize his private sector experience to both purchase new equipment and train county employees how to operate it, thus eliminating the need to hire outside contractors.

Despite the struggling economy, Huron County continues to balance it’s budget while still providing necessary services to residents.
Joe is very supportive of Huron County Development Council and can see many positive things happening in Huron County, such as the expansions and/or upgrades at Pepperidge Farms in Willard, Berry Plastics in Monroeville, and Mitsubishi in Bellevue just to name a few.

During his second term, Joe has gained a great deal of insight and experience and has continued to work at building good working relationships with other elected officials and community leaders.

Joe has become very involved in working to eliminate the opiate crisis in Huron County. Even though it is a non-traditional role for a County Commissioner, Joe understands how important this issue is not only to the individual involved but also the economic impact.
